8 Simple Steps to Your Custom Photo Book...

At Legendbound we believe that every story deserves a voice. Our goal is to make yours operatic.  To help you take center stage, we put your tale through an 8-step process. Don’t worry, we keep you involved throughout the production and make sure you have ample opportunity to ensure accuracy.  The final result will be a show-stopping work of art that will cause you to shed a tear.   Or sing.

Step 1 — Interviewing

Your story is the framework upon which your entire book resides.  This is where we hear the calm and the drama, the twists and the turns. To make sure we capture every nuance, we devote a Personal Interviewer to your tale, armed with a voice recorder and the inherent ability to make you feel comfortable. Your job is simply to have fun reminiscing.

Step 2 — Transcription

Once the interviews are complete, our Transcriptionist types your words into the computer and passes them, verbatim, to a Legendbound Writer.

Step 3 — Writing & Editing

Building on the content of your interview, our Writers lay out your story and polish the wording. Our aim is to make sure that your tale is as eloquent and absorbing as possible while still retaining your distinct voice. We can also incorporate relevant historical details or world events.

Step 4 — Image Selection

Once you have approved the written content, it’s time to add impact to your story with images. This is the fun part! Scavenge through old pictures and take time to delight in the memories they evoke. We will provide guidance on which images best complement your text, but the final decision is in your capable hands.

Step 5 — Image Retouching

We carefully scan each of your photos using our professional equipment and then pass them to our Image Technician. We take special care to ensure that colors are balanced, images are crisp and the quality of your photos is maximized. We can also restore old photos or slides.

Step 6 — Graphic Design

Our Graphic Designers work with you and our Creative Director to craft a theme for your book that captures your style. This is where we take your breath away.

Step 7 — Printing

Your pages are professionally printed on thick, archival-quality paper. We choose paper not only for its long-lasting attributes, but also for the pleasing feel of the pages between your fingers.

Step 8 — Binding

Your hardcover book is bound by hand using custom covers and specially chosen endpapers. Your story is timeless, so we’ve made sure your book is built to last.
